Elektra 727759 – re-issue LP in a thick gatefold jacket from Rhino’s Hi-Fi Series
The Cars’ 1978 debut brought a polished, hook-driven sound that reshaped rock radio. Featuring hits like Just What I Needed, My Best Friends Girl, and Good Times Roll, the album was an instant success, peaking at No. 18 on the Billboard 200 and going 6x Platinum. Widely regarded as one of rocks greatest debuts, it helped define the late 70s sound and earned a spot on Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Decades later, its sleek production and timeless hooks continue to inspire musicians.
