Sheik Yerbouti
Zappa Records 38591 – re-issue 2 LP set
Originally released in 1979, Sheik Yerbouti is (inexplicably) Zappa’s biggest selling album world-wide. (In his vast catalogue, why this one?) It is an entertaining amalgam of live and studio recordings, many a mixture of both. It was his first release on his Zappa label, after his very ugly and public divorce from Warner Brothers Records. Lots of guitar artistry, sarcasm and scatological humor.
