Yazoo – special vinyl release for Record Store Day 26
Of all the early blues greats Charlie Patton maintains the most prestigious and elevated place of admiration andrespect. He alone seems like the voice of a powerful long lost musical construct that, as Rolling Stone wrote, “After almost 95 years Patton’s magnetic, almost palpable presence will still jump out of your speakers and grab you by the throat” This album displays the whole range of styles he encompassed and exhibits both his pure power and subtle expressiveness in his singing and guitar playing. Doing justice to his great artistry are the very highest standards of sound quality achieved here in the transfers of such treasured old recordings
