Nation Time
Superior Viaduct 164

Nation Time was originally released on the tiny CJR label in 1970, and re-issued on CD by Atavistic in 2000. This is a new vinyl re-issue on Superior Viaduct Records. Joining McPhee are Mike Kull on piano, Tyrone Crabb on bass & trumpet, and Bruce Thompson or Ernest Bostic on percussion. On Shakey Jake, add Otis Greene on alto, Herbie Lehman on organ, and Dave Jones on electric guitar. Pop Matterswriter Imre Szeman said “Nation Time is as a good a place as any to start a sustained relationship with this genius of modern jazz. Its the kind of album that you want to tell everyone about and that you want to force everyone to listen to. Brilliant stuff-an absolutely, positively recommended addition to your collection”.
