The Munsters
The Newest Teen-Age Singing Group
Pressed on Limited Edition PUMPKIN ORANGE w/ BLACK SPLATTER vinyl
Did you know Herman, Grandpa, Lily, Marilyn and Eddie Munsterdoubled as a rock and roll band?! Well, despite the subhead on thealbum proclaiming them as The Newest Teen-Age Singing Group, they didntbut that didnt stop the label execs at Decca Records fromtrying to cash in on the new CBS hit TV show! Veteran producersJoe Hooven and Hal Winn had the good sense to hire the Wrecking Crew(most notably Glen Campbell and Leon Russell) to play this surf-tinged set
of songs, and brought in The Go-Gos (nope, not those Go-Gos, they were just out of diapersthis was a male vocal trio that cut one LP for RCAback in 1964, the same year this record came out) to sing the lyricsto such gems as You Created a Monster and Make It Go Away. The wholething is a hoot, and a highly collectible hoot at thatoriginal copiesof this album command monstrous sums! For its first-ever vinyl reissue, weve pressedup a limited edition of 800 copies in Herman green vinylget readyto do the Munster creep this Halloween and beyond!
