Description
Their exploits fill countless homemade scrapbooks with black-and-white photos and yellowed newspaper clippings. They are the subject of tall tales shared around hunting camps and local taverns. They brought home the trophies that sit in the glass-fronted cases in the halls of the local high schools. They are the history-makers of Crawford County athletics.
The Meadville Tribune, with the help of local historians, bring you”Crawford County Sports History Highlights.” This project showcases some of the greatest stories in the county’s history, which not only sent ripples across the state of Pennsylvania, but across the national stage.
“Crawford County Sports History Highlights” sheds a new light on some of the long lost stories of the past, and give a face to those legendary figures that are still talked about to this day.
