Description
The Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram present this commemorative hardcover book, Maine Memories: Southern Maine Coast a pictorial history full of stunning photos and compelling stories.
In these stories, photographs and captions, we’ve journeyed into the 19th and early- and mid-20th century ofthe Southern Maine Coast to re-acquaint ourselves with its growth, daily realities, struggles and most of all its people. The result is a portrait that may strengthen our Maine ideals and offer a clearer image of who we are today. We’re grateful to the historical societies, museums and libraries that provided vital insight and direction, along with photographs from times past. Their cooperation and commitment ensured the completeness of this book.
