Recollections

Description

Simply Red celebrate four decades of music with Recollections 20 glorious, newly recorded versions of their classic songs. Produced with long-time collaborator Andy Wright, the collection delivers beautiful yet faithful takes on timeless favourites including “Moneys Too Tight To Mention,” “Holding Back The Years,” “Stars,” “Fairground” and many more.

Mick Hucknall explains: As a way of celebrating 40 years of Simply Red, we thought it apt to release these takes. Andy Wright set about capturing the atmosphere and sonics of the originals and has done a magnificent job. This has enabled us to come full circle and celebrate our 40 years with you.

The anniversary year has already been unforgettable, with Hucknalls guest spot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon alongside The Roots, a surprise Glastonbury appearance with Rod Stewart, and a sold-out UK & European tour.

With over 60 million albums sold, five UK #1s, 2 billion streams, and a legacy of hits spanning generations, Simply Red remain one of Britains most beloved bands.
This 2LP vinyl version comes as a limited edition on crystal clear & black marbled vinyl.
A true celebration of Simply Red past, present, and forever.

Recollections is available in three physical formats – a 4LP vinyl, a 3CD (both featuring 40 tracks), and a cut-down double vinyl featuring 20 of their top tracks.
