Egypt Strut
Strut / Art Yard – import re-issue
Ragab learned jazz in the service in his native Egypt, and started his Cairo Jazz Band shortly after his stint ended. They toured the states in 1969 and befriended American / Saturnian band leader, Sun Ra. Ra played with Ragab when Ragab invited Ra and his Arkestra to tour Egypt. Ra recorded 2 of Ragab’s songs; Dawn and Egypt Strut. This re-issue features the original artwork, includes new liner notes by Francis Gooding of The Wire, along with rare photos. It was remastered by Technology Works.
