Throbbing GristleHeathen Earth: The Live Sound of Throbbing Gristle
Mute – Re-issue LP in a thick gatefold jacket
Mute are delighted to announce the reissue of Heathen Earth, the 1980 live in- studio album from Throbbing Gristle.Heathen Earth is a crucial live document of industrialpioneers Throbbing Gristle. In member Chris Carters ownwords: You had to have been there. Which is what we alwayssay about TG. TG on record and TG live are two completely
different things. This album is probably the closest approximationof the two youll ever get: made in front of a small audience, the event was filmed by Monte Cazzaza with the intention ofreleasing it on video. The majority of the set is instrumental, fluctuating between the raw electronics of Throbbing Gristlesearly work and the bands more melodic material. It is the bestof both harrowing worlds, and the most coherent album
Throbbing Gristle ever made. Heathen Earth is issuedin a limited blue vinyl LP gatefold edition via Mute. Also includes an exclusive Photographic print 12″ booklet.
